Why Working Less Is Great

Why Working Less Is GreatIf you are able to, then working less is great.

Maybe you found a way to free up some of your day, maybe you started delegating your tasks, maybe you found a way make the same amount or even more money while working less.

Maybe you even found a way to streamline your tasks more efficiently and have learned how to be more productive with your time.

I have read that many people spend countless hours each week on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest, when they should actually be working.

Some statistics say that the average person spends 10 to 20 hours during each of their work week (yes, so 10 to 20 hours of their 40 hour work week) is spent not actually working.

Here are the many benefits of working less.

More time to do outdoor activities.

If you are constantly in the office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., then it can be very hard to get outside and actually get some daylight. You will have more time to ride your bike, hike on trails, go for walks, and so on.

More time to cook healthy and delicious meals.

Now that I’m working less and I have more time to do what I want, I am finding myself spending more time cooking delicious meals.

I’m also enjoying this time spent cooking, whereas before it was a complete and total drag. I absolutely hated cooking before, and I would do anything to get out of it. Before, I was also constantly cooking boring meals just so that I could save time.

More time to focus on yourself.

If you have more time, then obviously it is easier to spend more time to focus on yourself. You will have time to finally do the things that you want, such as:

  • Learning a new language.
  • Studying a new culture.
  • Traveling to a new country.
  • More time to workout.
  • More time to volunteer.

Would you work less if you could? Why or why not?

What would you do with your free time?
